@thebandguide Great video! I am running into one issue. I pitch corrected vocals with FlexPitch but when I bounce the files in place or even try to export them, the notes change. Some of the notes are slightly off (from pitch perfect to -17) but others change notes all together (E to D#). The exported version sounds closest to the original but still a tad off. Ideally, I want to be send exactly how I have edited it but I am struggling to get it out just how I have it now. How do I do this? What am I doing wrong on the other versions? Thanks in advance!

After down loading the meters what do you do to activate? It doesn't seem to work

Just make sure that you are done and happy with all the tracking before you use this feature. It causes latency that doesn't go away, even if you remove it.

I’ve been using Logic Pro on iPad for about a year at this point, and I finally got my parents to let me buy a MacBook. The only issue is that I don’t have the money to get Logic Pro, but it’d be a huge downgrade to go back to GarageBand even if it is on Mac.

Great honest video. I few other things to think about. If you are doing a lot of work then you want something ergonomic. After some time you will probably be looking for more knobs (especially) to take strain away from constantly using a mouse. You can do a lot with a single fader with transport and jog controls. Plugins are tricky. Ideally you want knobs so you can be using your hands/ears to listen to a change vs staring at the screen., Trying to get something that supports multiple vendors takes research. Some great options out there you may now be aware of include the MP Midi controller (it's an external screen that breaks out your plugins with 24 pots) or the Rocksolid Audio range.) More generic/mappable vs dedicated channel strip style. Once you have figured out your approach then you can get the option to suit. At present no one manufacturer gets it all right.

I think the chord bar is awesome. 😎 I’ve been writing charts my whole life, so no big. There is also a feature where you can specify the exact chords you want in the players region data itself, using the Editor. The players don’t have to be using strictly identical chord progressions. It’s a fantastic tool for composition because you can try different harmonic structures quickly and accurately as fast as you can think of them. There’s also suggested chord progressions if you’re interested in the input as well. The bass note feature is perfect for creating bass line patterns. I have been able to get everything I want out of the keys and bass. I can’t say enough good things

The chords are admittedly a chore but after a while trying cutting and pasting sections of chord track or session player regions it doesn’t seem too much of a hassle. And I love the upright bass settings with slap and growl in particular

So, every time I check back and watch sections of this video, it seems my ears, my ability to hear what i'm supposed to be listening for, becomes more apparent.

I’ve heard that it’s better to send signals to the buses (VOX, BAND, EFFECTS) so there’s no that so much of summing signal to stereo output. Is that right?

I'm still hesitating about making the move from Garageband to Logic pro. This actually gives me more reason to do so. I didn't know that Logic had that Session player function. I'm sad that they removed the different drummers from the drum program.

Collin- when you adjust the volume on the EQ after you’ve made your boost or cut decisions- should or CAN you use a calculator to measure the exact difference in volume? Thats what I’ve been doing but I didn’t know if I was making a mistake by doing so.

Thank you so much for going through this. This has pretty much convinced me to buy Logic for the new drummer controls. No more “good enough”. I can now dial in exactly what I want. Looking forward to the videos diving deeper on the new Logic drummer.

Chromaglow is a great overhaul distortion tool for logic honestly. Like you said, it just has everything in one! I like to just go through some of the presets and play with the mix, sometimes using it parallel when driving very hard!

For the third time, watching and finding I'm hearing more of the finer moves much more...also picking up some tips and understanding where they're going...so I recommend sticking with this tutorial to see where it leads.

I just got around to trying it with an M1 chip. The clean to me sounds way worse than the other options and it sounds far more distorted using the exciter. Just my opinion. It defaults to transparent on mine. I think clean is just for non-M1 chips.

Great video. Great song. Good vocal but even better with extras. When I edit in Garageband I have a problem with the edit buttons when adjusting the volume. After I release the button the volume before has been altered slightly (straight line from the beginning) Do I just have a hard touch or am I missing something.
